On this empty building lot there is a venue in the spirit of the Wine and Food Festival. The food stalls represent many different national cousines. Kinji spends his morning supervising the japanese foodstall as the boss and still finds things that could be done better. “I have a restaurant and now we are trying to expand with a take-away service and this stall. We use japanese ingredients, like soy sauce, mayonnaise and vinegar but I always place the order saying that foodstuff should be sourced as far from Fukushima as possible. They never say they can’t do it.” Kinji seems to be very much aware by the risks the pollution of Fukushima poses. “It doesn’t do to scare people too much in Japan, it’s mind control I think. I told my friends to come here after the nuclear accident but they said no. They believe they are strong to stay. At the same time its hard to leave… a new language, a new job, leaving the family… They never came.”
