On a table sits a vase.
The sky outside is fire. It refracts off the crystal and scatters orange-y red hues around the room.
This vase has become a part of my day. My surroundings are noisy and unpredictable, and this vase is a constant in my world.
It’s also incredibly trusting.
Each day, it sits, unaware of the potential for life to be shattered into oblivion.
Or maybe it knows, but chooses to shine anyway.
There’s nobody around to see the light, but it still exists, like its own secret thoughts and feelings.
Each night I sit, alone, by the vase and reflect on the day.
I have my own, secret light.
And sometimes? I share it with her.
